confessions|thesis

ok, so my professor said write more so i am. for those who know me well, know i don’t like just doing things to do them but in order to get over this perplexity & massage a deeper burning in my ethos ive decided to write even when i don’t know where its going or even why i am writing. thank the doc for these precious pieces :)

*disclaimer*my writing style is raw even though ive had a classical education as my background & a precious grandmother who still thinks shes employed as a college professor teaching her graduate programs that still corrects my english mistakes over the telephone. my grammar has progressed w/artful designer concepts & more of a net/techno, speak easy understanding in a short hand text messaging world. all to say don’t miss the message, maybe its only for those w/eyes 2c.

i will be writing this initial confession as a thesis. as any thesis seeks to do this one will seek to provide an understanding into why i write, why i don’t write & to whom i write & the reasons & subjects. every blog that is lumped in the same category will carry the same title. for example this blog is entitled confessions|thesis, confessions|thesis v.2 will be an extended pick up of confessions|thesis. when i feel i have adequately captured my confessions|thesis (a confession of what this work is & an outline of where it is going), i will move to the next title which may only contain 1 volume instead of multiples. there is no deadline on the project that is why interaction w/humanity is a paramount & your responses are greatly recommended as i will gather much benefit from you. by the end of it all this may be a handbook on ::humanity::xperience|xpression|xpectation:: since this is an ongoing impression don’t be confused if you see me writing completely off the subject or not at all. this is my way of coping w/pressure. we will pick right back up where we left off, dont worry, dear old doc will be my constant reminder of how many days, weeks & minutes its been since our last encounter. now, down to my original thoughts of bringing this work to life off the dusty canvas of my mind & into reality.

several of my mates from my recent adventures to Israel have asked many questions about my life back home & my travels, poetry, music, teachings, relationships etc & my colleagues & students continue to all beckon the inquiry of, “tell us more from the Holy Land.” so i figured i would fuse these 2 worlds with a common ground in my blog & meet the demand of dear old doc. but in order to do that & remain true to the blog message,”adventure & mystery, escape & passion, inspiration & intrigue…” i would have to be a dj of some sort mixing back & forth between top 40, hip hop, jazz, rock, blues, electronica, requests & pop while still melding hints of, “whats the haps now?” so heres what im doing, taking 3 key questions & several core competencies of life itself & attaching my stories & the echoes of my heart to them. here they are. ::who are you?>identity & mission||where are you going?>vision & movement||how will you get there?>strategy & theory, method & meditation::

since i wont be answering these questions only from my perspective ive painted them in a more inclusive tone. i will be asking others these questions throughout the movements of my day as cultural convoys to help us align the rhythms of our hearts & the hearts of those we seek out.

to conclude the beginnings of v.1 i thought there had to be an alternative voice to help bring meaning to all this as we seek to live out loud on the rugged plains of reality. images inspire me & speak deep into the ethos of my being & one artisan that captures the essence & nature of my home state, florida, unlike many is alan s. maltz. in his book of powerful photography, FLORIDA beyond the blue horizon, there is a quote from william ralph inge - “faith begins as an experiment and ends as an experience.” may this quote be our very own jiminy cricket as we enjoy the experience wherever it leads us & may we choose to savor the moments until we transform from experiment & encounter the experience of a lifetime in the expression of Jesus!
